Jessica is able to portray her powerful female character because of her passion for combat, mixed martial arts skills as well as her horse riding, weapons and firearms skills, and her athletic abilities. She has studied boxing and muay Thai, and trains at a mixed martial arts gym in Australia. While on set filming Season 4, Jake Stormoen met a stray dog that was roaming the filming. The one dog turned out to be part of an entire litter of puppies who were able to take shelter in the set. Jessica took care of two puppies.
